Privacy policy

This explains what information BettyBot collects, why, and what you can do about it. BettyBot is the “data controller” for this information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR). Questions? Email support@bettybot.co.uk.
What we collect
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Your name and email address | To run your account, send invoices and contact you about it. |
| Your password | To let you log in. We only store a scrambled version (a hash), never the password itself. |
| Real bets placed through BettyBot: date, race, runner, bookmaker, stake, odds, result and profit | To work out your commission and show your results. |
| Referral details (who referred whom, and how many bets they've placed) | To apply referral discounts. |
| Invoices and payment status | To bill you and keep accounting records. |
What we don't collect
- Your Betfair and bookmaker logins. These stay on your own computer and are never sent to us.
- Your card details. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We only learn whether a payment went through.
- Practice bets. These stay on your computer.
- Tracking or advertising cookies. The website doesn't use any. It keeps a small sign-in note in your browser so you stay logged in, which is removed when you log out.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, to take card payments for invoices.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the BettyBot server and its data.
- Our email providers, which deliver messages to our support inbox and will send emails such as invoices and password resets.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and betting records while your account is open. After it closes, we keep invoice and payment records for as long as UK tax law requires (usually 6 years) and delete the rest within 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we may need to keep invoice records). Contact us through the Support page. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app.
